Elysian Field

Here are twelve different views of Elysian Field. I completed Elysian Field in 2013.

The original Funway Park was built on a piece of plywood that was 4 feet by 5 feet. I wanted to see what kind of park I could build on a piece of plywood that was 4 feet by 4 feet.

Why? Plywood comes 4 feet by 8 feet, so I could built 2 parks using one piece of plywood cut in half.

Elysian Field was the result. Elysian Enterprises is the name of my business. I chose that name, in part, because Elysian Field in Hoboken, New Jersey, was where the first professional baseball game was played in 1846, when the New York Baseball Club defeated the Knickerbockers 23-1.

I was pleased with the result. All of my Funway Ball Parks are now built on 4′ x 4′ pieces of plywood.

For Elysian Field, I bought two more die-cast metal “O” gauge baseball teams. I also found blue fishnets! Perfect!
